From robot platforms to real-world applications
Berlin-based Physical AI and robotics engineering company GappAI met with Lyn Wang, Regional Manager at Unitree Robotics, at IFA Berlin 2026. The discussion focused on evaluating Unitree humanoid platforms within GappAI’s approach to skill development and integration into real working environments.
Topics included task-specific software development, transferring skills learned from human expertise to robots, customisation through platform development interfaces, systems integration and controlled field pilots. The evaluation of suitable platforms and technical requirements for industrial applications was also discussed.
Capture → Skills → Workforce
GappAI’s approach is built on its Capture → Skills → Workforce architecture. Capture structures data from human work processes and robot operations. Skills focuses on developing reusable robot skills from that data. Workforce encompasses deploying, monitoring and improving those skills in real working environments.
The evaluation of Unitree platforms aims to bring robot selection, skill development and field integration together around customer needs in manufacturing and assembly, industrial operations, logistics and infrastructure.
Technical and commercial cooperation opportunities
The IFA Berlin meeting continued direct corporate discussions following GappAI’s applications through Unitree’s official distributor and industry-level purchase and cooperation channels. Ahead of the event, Zhang Min, Regional Sales Director at Unitree, referred GappAI to Lyn Wang for further discussions.
The discussion also addressed robot supply, purchase and rental options, training, technical support and potential Robot-as-a-Service cooperation models. The scope of any future work would depend on platform capabilities, customer applications and commercial terms to be agreed between the parties.
GappAI plans to continue technical and commercial evaluations with the Unitree team after IFA Berlin. Potential cooperation remains under evaluation.
